Kelli Giddish debuts a very pregnant Amanda Rollins in brand new Law & Order: SVU set images. After more than a decade in the NBC police procedural, Giddish wrapped up her stint at the Manhattan SVU in December 2022. Not long after that, Rollins is already set to return as she reunites with her former co-workers.
As revealed by various posts on Twitter, Giddish is back on the Law & Order: SVU set as Rollins. Check out the images below:
As previously reported, when Rollins re-appears in Law & Order: SVU, she would be pregnant. This will mark her third child, and the first one with her now husband, ADA Sonny Carisi.
What To Expect From Rollins’ Law & Order: SVU Return
At this point, plot specifics about her return are still scant at the moment, with details about the said episode being tightly kept under wraps. Aside from appearing in the Law & Order: SVU season 24 finale, however, she’s also set to make a guest appearance in Law & Order: Organized Crime season 3 penultimate outing. That would likely explain why Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler is on set with Mariska Hargitay and Giddish in the aforementioned images.
For what it’s worth, there aren’t any lingering plotlines involving Rollins that need to be urgently addressed. Law & Order: SVU came up with a justified reason for her decision to leave Manhattan SVU despite ongoing rumors that Giddish was forced out of the show for budgetary reasons. Until now, neither the actress nor Wolf Entertainment has commented on the matter, but the fact that she is willing to be back on set indicates that she has maintained good relationships with her former co-workers.
Whether Rollins will return to Law & Order: SVU again beyond the season 24 finale is currently unknown. But the fact that she is married to the current ADA is keeping the door open for her re-emergence. At the very least, Captain Olivia Benson and the rest of the Manhattan SVU can still get regular updates about how she’s doing since leaving the force.
